Who are we?
(First question I would ask, if I was buying!!) I am Gillian, my dayjob is as a database administrator in Houston. My bamboo specialist (Yup, that's me!!, always in purple) is a petroleum engineer, he is generally all over the map because of his work. We are both career professionals and we co-wrote this website. (Still under construction!!) I am from Trinidad and Tobago (an island north of Venezuela in the Caribbean), he is from England.
How long have we been in Business??
We have been selling bamboo products for the last 10 years. Primarily in Overseas markets and locally in Houston. We are currently exporting bamboo products to 14 countries and planning to expand to 5 more countries in 2000.
This is our 2nd internet based website. The first website www.my-callaloo.com has been extremely successful. We plan to add more products in a couple of months.
Update:
This site and company has grew
three folds in the last 12 months. Yes! 2001 has been an interesting year.
We opened a full 5500ft2 warehouse in Houston, to accommodate the consumers in the
area. We hired 8 more new personnel but the truth is we had not expected to
grow so rapidly. If you
want to see bamboo, this is the place!

Where does the bamboo come from??
Over the years, we have developed very close relationships with different manufactures in different countries. They are selected for their workmanship, product quality and integrity. Most importantly they are our friends and partners in business. They are professional craftsmen in their trade as we are in ours and this works well to provide quality products and service to our customers.
We continually have to place ourselves in our customers position. "If we were buying this product, what would we expect from the seller". We test all the new products ourselves first, verify that the quality control standards are in place, trust the manufacturer (very important), then consider retailing the merchandise. (New product process usually takes ~1 year.)
A large percentage of our products come from China, Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia.

However!!, (contrary to his opinion), there has been an interesting advantage, we have made a lot of friends along the way, most of them our customers.
We are not mass resellers or manufacturer. We sell small quantities of products, with a quality assurance, price and customer service second to none.
